German Ralf König`s gay cartoons have been translated into 13 languages ​​and sold over seven million copies, which makes him the most popular gay writer in the world. König has received numerous awards and four of the stories have been filmed. Many others have been performed in theaters and puppetry. König's books are still selling well in the world. What is the man behind the myth and his art? Ralf König was born on August 8, 1960 in the city of Soin, Germany, in Westfalen, Germany. He went to school in Werl and later began to study as a carpenter. In 1979, he came out of the closet and published his first short cartoons, which was well received by a politically motivated gay movement. The cartoons were published in the Zomix -underground magazine in Munich and in the gay Rosa Flieder magazine. König decided to continue his studies and refined his skills at the Düsseldorf National Academy of Art in 1981-1986. Since then, he has been a prolific artist.
